| The stock exchangeAt present the two exchanges in Cairo and Alexandria have been unified as a single market and are now electronically linked for real time trading through the computer based screen-trading system. With the increase in trading volume and rising demand currently occurring, increased computerization is taking place, linking trading to clearance, settlement and transfer of ownership.

As of October 1996, the central depository system has been operational. The two exchanges are also being reorganized modernized in accordance with international standards. In the future the law will allow for introduction of specialized exchanges for commodities or future and options and other investment vehicles.

MIST has been providing the real time trading data from The Egyptian Stock Exchange on an on-line high speed land network for the last 7 years & using a land network has always limited our plans to expand outside the main cities in Egypt & of course to any where outside Egypt.
MIST started using the Nile Sat service as a mean for broadcasting the real time trading information from the Egyptian capital market, & now our user can simply use a satellite card, & a one meter dish plus a connecting cable to receive the information on his PC without needing any land line that is expensive & gets faulty every now & then….
